AYISECACE! World On Press Vote for your Best Soapie: SAFTAS

The South African Film and Television Awards announces the opening of the Best Soapie Category voting line. The Best Soapie Voting line opens today 14 of February 2011 and will close on Friday 25th of February.

As with previous years, viewers are encouraged to vote for their Best Soapie by sending an sms to 34877. The sms vote costs R2.00, and only 10 votes per number are allowed. To vote viewers are requested to type Soapie followed by Name of the soapie.

The SAFTAs are industry awards of which the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) of South Africa are the industry appointed custodians. The award’s main objective is to honour, celebrate and promote the creativity, quality and excellence of South African, film and television talent, and encourage entrepreneurship and the development of new talent in the industry.

The 5th SAFTAs will be held at Melrose Arch at Madame Zingara’s Theatre of Dreams over a period of two weekends. The first event to be held on Sunday 20th of February will award winners in the Non-fiction categories, followed by the second session - Fiction categories to be held on Sunday 27th of February. Today at the Media announcement held at SAFA House Johannesburg South attached to the Soccer City. Media giants came in numbers for the announcement of the first Bafana Bafana game against Burkina Faso. Surprisingly Kenya is now playing a friendly match against South Africa. This fast change decision was taken by SAFA committee and their big suits last night. It seems the World Cup never gives SAFA house on how to maintain and uphold first ranks? How on earth do you send out notice for the game and change it over night. The game was also on FIFA Channel. What happened to Danny Jordan? Please somebody answer me. What went down on President Nematandan’s mind and coach Mosimane must have powder on it. They were proud to announce Kenya is up against South Africa and already a buzz has been created outside about Burkina Faso. SAFA clearly did try to get hold of Burkina Faso somewhere in Paris and they were never interested on South Africa. Only to find out that no formal paper work was done by SAFA. Sorry fans there will be no Burkina game anytime soon.


Will Bafana Bafana contact the same sangoma they were using during World Cup? “On a lighter note you understand this country has a freedom of religion” SAFA President- Kirstin Nematandani replied. Since Bafana Bafana does not have any jersey sponsorship and might play naked * jumps*, speculations about Adidas to come on board are floating around. The football in S.A seems to be a play ground, for some of us we still proud about hosting World Cup. SAFA house needs to clean up their act and get together before they all loose their jobs. Already CEO Sedibe is out now who is next? AYISECACE! Don’t ask me why but Teko Modise will not play the overnight scheduled match. This will be the first match for Bafana Bafana in the New Year. South Africa was scheduled to play Burkina Faso but the fixture never materialised and will instead play Kenya who is ranked 127th in the world and 35th on the continent. Bring back Vuvuvzela on the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, 9 February 2011. Kickoff for the match is at 20H35. oops if you see Katlego Mphela tell him he I not on the below list. Coach Mosimane made it clear , players that are not committed will not be seen on Bafana Bafana squad. AYISECACE!

Madiba is Free: AYISECACE

Today at the Johannesburg Millpark Hospital Press Conference held. Attended by The Deputy President Kgalema Motlante. This has been over 48 hours since the 92 year old President Mandelawent for checkup. The speculations and faulty rumors around Mandela’s health were cleared by the Chief Commander present. On the Panel, Mandla Mandela and CEO from the Mandela foundation. Just after the press conference saw Mandla and his other older uncle going to the VIP private section were Mandela is said to be. During this time a military ambulance on the green covered parking saw people moving in and out. Motlante confirmed Madiba is in good health condition. Motlante and Graca were even sharing jokes at his private ward. He is unable to be out of bed at the moment. Winnie Mandela and Graca’s grand daughter with some family members went out of the VIP parking area looking and feeling good. We have not yet seen Madiba’s face. Staff members were told not to give out any information as we tried to source out. Security guard confirmed that Mandela has been submitted to the hospital yet not sure if he was still around. A group of cars left the hospital with the Military ambulance, as we were standing outside we could not see if Mandela was inside or not. The cars went to Mandela House in Houghton Johannesburg with the Ambulance.

Meanwhile Motlante was not sure when is Mandela going home as there to be security checkups before his exit. When we left the Millpark Hospital things were back to normal. The Big question; what happened to Mabida, was he really Ill and at the Millpark Hospital? “We can confirm that Mandela was discharged and is in good health” concludes Motlante. Meanwhile President Jacob Zuma has today, 28 January 2011, left Davos, Switzerland where he attended the World Economic Forum and he is now en route to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the 16th Summit of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU). His last words about Mandela “We urge the media to afford him the dignity and respect that he is entitled to as the country's founding democratic President, as a national hero and also as a citizen of the Republic. The media should balance the quest for stories with acting within the bounds of human decency and ensuring the respect for human dignity. The doctors also need to be allowed to do their work without undue pressure.” President J. Zuma has a final say.
