The 2010 FIFA Final Draw World Cup held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on Friday, 4 December 2009, attracted more than 200 million viewers. South Africa’s Academy Award winner- Charlize Theron (guest presenter) was assisted by FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke. Carol Manana South Africa’s only female football anchor unexpectedly appeared from Table Mountain as the host for the evening. The dialogue between the Republic of South Africa president Jacob Zuma and FIFA President Joseph Blatter promised a great World Cup.

Dr Nelson Mandela also agreed on the FIFA’s decision allowing South Africa to host World Cup. “Ke Nako” now is the time those were the words echoed by Mandela.The host country’s Bafana Bafana team will be against Mexico on group A.



It was clear that South Africa is ready to host the world, the Grammy award winning gospel group Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa sung pata-pata accompanied by South Africa’s colorful dancers of Umoja-the spirit of togetherness with their snake cultural dance. Later on the 2010 match ball named Jabulani (be Happy) was revealed. South Africa’s artists gathered with a Grand Finale performance “Now or never.”

Countdown to Final Draw 2010 FIFA World Cup

A stage has been set for the Final Draw for the 2010 FIFA World Cup this coming Friday, 4 December 2009. South Africa’s own Academy award winner Charlize Theron will be joined by star-studded line-up of sports celebrities, including football star David Beckham (England), one of only a few players to score in at least three consecutive FIFA World Cups, Haile Gebrselassie (Ethiopia), two-time Olympic gold medallist and nine-time athletics world champion, Makhaya Ntini, the first black player in the South African cricket team, John Smit, the captain of rugby world champions South Africa and Bafana Bafana player Matthew Booth.

Former South African President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela, one of the architects of the first African World Cup, will address the audience by video message. Also in attendance they will be Jacob Zuma, President of the Republic of South Africa and FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter will welcome the audience at the beginning of the 90-minute live show. Guests on the day will include Issa Hayatou, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the FIFA World Cup, Nobel Peace Prize winners Frederik W. de Klerk and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as well as former football icons Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Eusebio and Roger Milla.


Host for the evening will be South African presenter Carol Manana, guests will be entertained by a line up of marvellous performances from Grammy award-winners Soweto Gospel Choir, Beninese singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo and Johnny Clegg will perform alongside the Jazzart Dance Company. The grand finale will feature 80 artists including internationally acclaimed musical ensemble Africa Umoja. This will be a night to remember it will be broadcasted to 200 territories to over 200 million viewers around the world. Finally all 32 countries will know which teams to encounter during the 2010 World Cup in South African.

The city of gold , Johannesburg tourism hosts Miss World Model 2009, with only few days left for the Miss world finals to be held in South Africa for the second time.


Nutown Tribune hall Saturday afternoon November 28 was turned into gold when 107 Miss World contestants showcases the work by South African designers- Thula Sindi; Kluk CGdT; JJ Schoeman; Marc & Michael; Haroun Hansrot; RJKay and Diamond Face CoutureThula Sindi; Kluk CGdT; JJ Schoeman; Marc & Michael; Haroun Hansrot; RJKay and Diamond Face Couture.

Michelle Mclean (Miss Universe 1992) presenter for the afternoon kept the guests mesmerized with her still good and beautiful looks at the Miss World fashion. Miss World Model with a city of gold touch went to Mexico-Perla Beltran Acosa. Current Miss World winner from Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova wished all the contestants best of luck. The event felt close to her as a reminder of last year’s same routine. She has been involved in to charity in Vietnam and helping the poor. She believes in giving and has so far raised 30 million.
Now in its 59th year, the Miss World contest is the world’s biggest annual television event, with a global television audience of more than a billion viewers. The two-hour final will be broadcast live via satellite, starting at 17h00 South African time on Saturday 12 December 2009 and on SABC 2.
