Morgan Freeman has one word for all South Africans “Reconcile.” Invictus coincide with the reconciliation as it depict post apartheid era. When Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 27 years. South Africans reunited against racism. The country is still not united as it suppose there are some few who still believe and practice racism.

In the movie Nelson Mandela is elected as president of South Africa that is still acrimoniously alienated. Still racial issues are on the desk as he takes the stand. Nelson Mandela believes that reconciliation and forgiveness are the keys to progress for South Africa. He seats down and try to find something that will unite people of South Africa. He then searches for hope in unlikely place of sport Rugby. The Madiba Magic does wonders, as he goes out of politics and government save South Africa. Mandela looks to unite the country behind their national team, the Springboks. Mandela reaches out to the captain of the Springbok team, Francois Pienaar. The star rugby player and team captain suddenly finds himself in the center of a political arena. Matt Damon talks a little about the situation Pienaar faced: Mandela basically asks him to exceed his country’s expectations and his own expectations and win the World Cup. The actor. It’s an enormous request, but Francois knows that it’s actually bigger than any rugby match. And along the way, the entire team realizes they have become an important instrument in bringing their country together. It’s a beautiful; inspiring movie that lets the viewer’s emotions low.

Mandela calls upon Pienaar to lead his team to greatness, citing a poem that was a source of inspiration and strength to him during his years in prison. The poem that inspired Mandela is “Invictus,” by William Ernest Henley. The title is translated to mean, “unconquered”.

Invictus archives how South African President Nelson Mandela and Rugby star Francois Pienaar joined forces to unite the country by winning the 1995 World Cup. The victory brought forward unity and thereafter rainbow nation formation took place. South Africa still today celebrates Invictus in many ways as united Rainbow Nation that brought peace by Nelson Mandela.
